Lemon Squeezy or Paddle for a small AI tool? worried about approval

I read horror stories about getting rejected by both because "AI wrapper" or waiting weeks for approval. My thing is a resume rewriter, $9/month, built in Lovable. Which one is less painful to get approved by, and has anyone moved between them?

What I’ve tried

Applied to Paddle two weeks ago, still "in review". Read their acceptable use page, I don't think I'm violating anything.

Both review your site before you can go live, and both are cautious with thin AI wrappers because of refund/chargeback risk. What speeds it up in my experience:

  • A real website with pricing, terms, privacy policy, refund policy, and a support email on your own domain.
  • Clear description of what the product does in your own words, not "powered by GPT".
  • Screenshots or a demo account for the reviewer.

Paddle's review has been slower for people I know; Lemon Squeezy tends to be faster for small products. Neither is a guarantee.

Slight disagreement with starting on a MoR at all if approval is the bottleneck: plain Stripe gets you live the same day, and at low volume the VAT side is manageable (see the €10k EU threshold). You can move to a MoR later. Moving subscriptions between providers is the painful part though, customers have to re-enter cards. So pick early if you know you'll switch.

Fair. Depends a lot on where you're based and where customers are. For a US seller, sales tax thresholds make plain Stripe pretty easy early on. nils_tw · edited

Honestly I'd also look at Polar, it's newer and very indie-friendly. Also a MoR. Got approved in 2 days for a similar tool.
