Two of us work on the same Lovable project and changes keep disappearing

My cofounder and I both prompt in the same Lovable project, sometimes at the same time. Yesterday she added a filter on the dashboard and 20 minutes later it was gone, while I was working on the settings page. Is there a proper way for 2 people to work on one project?

What I’ve tried

We now send each other a WhatsApp before prompting, which is silly. Also tried remixing so we each have a copy, but then we can't merge them.

Each prompt edits the current state of the files. If you both prompt at the same time, the second edit can be based on files from before the first one finished, and it writes over it. It's not really made for simultaneous prompting.

What works for my team:

  • One person prompts in Lovable at a time (yes, basically your WhatsApp rule, but make it a shared "I'm in" status).
  • The other works locally on a branch via the GitHub sync, and merges through a pull request.
  • Split by area: one owns dashboard, other owns settings.

If you both prefer prompting, look into branch support in the GitHub integration (it was experimental last time I used it). Each of you on your own branch, merge on GitHub. Merge conflicts are still yours to solve, but at least nothing silently vanishes.

We split it by tool: I prompt the UI in Lovable, my co-founder changes the database directly in Supabase with migrations. Nobody writes over each other.
